Privacy Policy
Effective September 17, 2026
This policy explains what Beryli (“Beryli”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use the Beryli service and the website at beryli.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Beryli is a savings assistant that works over text message. You sign up with your phone number, connect the bank accounts and mailbox you choose, and Beryli texts you about recurring charges, trials, price increases, duplicate subscriptions, and discounts it finds.
Information we collect
Information you give us. Your mobile phone number, the consent you give on the sign-up form, and the text messages you send to Beryli.
Bank account information through Plaid. When you connect a bank or card account, you do so through Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”). Plaid gives us the account name and type, balances, transactions, and recurring payment streams for the accounts you select. We never see or store your bank login credentials. Plaid’s handling of your information is described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy, which you agree to when you connect an account through Plaid.
Mailbox information through Google. When you connect a Gmail mailbox, you grant Beryli read-only access to that mailbox through Google. Beryli uses that access to find receipts, subscription confirmations, trial notices, price-change notices, and cancellation confirmations. From those emails we keep typed facts such as the merchant, plan name, amount, dates, and the email’s identifier. We do not keep the body of your emails. Beryli’s use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. See “Google user data” below.
Information collected automatically. Delivery records for the text messages we send and receive, such as timestamps and delivery status. On the website, basic technical information your browser sends, such as IP address and browser type. The website does not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
How we use information
- To provide the service: find savings in your connected accounts, reply to your texts, and send you findings.
- To verify that a phone number belongs to the person who signed up.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and debug problems.
- To comply with law and enforce our terms.
We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell or rent your information. We do not use your information to train artificial intelligence models.
Google user data
Beryli’s use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:
- We use Gmail data only to provide the features described in this policy, which you can see in the messages Beryli sends you.
- We do not transfer Gmail data to third parties except as needed to provide those features, for security purposes, or to comply with law.
- No person at Beryli reads your emails, unless you ask us to for support, or it is needed for security or legal reasons.
- We do not use Gmail data for advertising, and we do not use it to develop, improve, or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
You can revoke Beryli’s access at any time from your Google account permissions page or by emailing us.
Bank data
Beryli treats information received through Plaid as confidential financial information. We use it only to provide the service. We do not sell or rent it, and we do not share it with marketers. You can disconnect an account at any time by emailing us, and you can manage the apps connected to your accounts through Plaid at my.plaid.com.
Artificial intelligence providers
Beryli uses language models from third-party providers to read email content, write the messages it sends you, and understand your replies. We send those providers only what is needed for the task, and never your bank login credentials, card numbers, or account numbers. Our providers are bound by commercial terms that prohibit them from using your information to train their models.
Text messaging
We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your phone number and consent record are shared only with the service provider that delivers our text messages, and as required by law.
Message frequency varies. Beryli replies when you text it and sends a message when it finds something in your connected accounts, typically a few messages per week. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Full details are in the SMS Terms.
Who we share information with
We share information only with:
- Service providers that process it on our behalf and under our instructions: Twilio (text message delivery), Plaid (bank connections), Google (mailbox access), artificial intelligence model providers, and our database and hosting providers. Each is bound by contract to use your information only to provide its service to us.
- Authorities, when required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of Beryli or others.
- A successor, if Beryli is acquired or merges with another company. We will notify you by text before your information is transferred under a different privacy policy.
We never sell or rent personal information, and we never share your mobile phone number, consent data, financial information, or mailbox information with third parties for their own marketing.
Retention and deletion
We keep your information while you use the service. If you opt out or ask us to delete your information, we delete your account, connected account data, and mailbox-derived data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law, such as consent and opt-out records for text messaging. If your number has been inactive for 12 months, we delete your account and its data.
To delete your information or disconnect an account, email support@beryli.com from any address and include the phone number you signed up with. We will confirm the request by text to that number before acting on it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Beryli does not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front. To make a request, email support@beryli.com. We will verify it by text to the phone number on the account and respond within 45 days.
Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and monitoring. Bank and mailbox access tokens are stored encrypted, and card numbers never enter our systems. No security measures are perfect, and we cannot guarantee that your information will never be accessed or disclosed without authorization.
Children
The service is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will text you before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date means you accept the updated policy. The effective date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
